College 101: Getting Noticed as a Player
The coaching staff at Bloomington High School North is committed to not only helping you accomplish your high school goals, but we are also devoted to helping you reach your post-secondary goals. The following outline is a just a guideline. This path may not be the desired path by every player. You do not have to make your decision to play college soccer as a freshman. The staff can assist you at any point of the process.
Freshman
-Decide if you are interested in playing college soccer
-If on varsity, begin collecting stats and highlight clips

-Summer before attend a camp or two of your interested schools
-Continue collecting stats, highlight clips, and news articles
-Start creating a list of schools
-Possible criteria

-Size of school
-NCAA Div I, NCAA Div II, NCAA Div III, or NAIA
-Tuition vs. financial aid
-Summer before attend a camp or two of your interested schools

-Fill out the athlete recruitment form on the website of each school you are interested
-Try to have your club attend a college showcase

You will need to fill out the NCAA Clearinghouse application on-line to be recruited by Div I, II, III members.

-Finish tabulating stats, create a highlight reel, and collect news articles
-Narrow your list of schools
-Continue to contact coaches of schools you are interested and invite them to games (high school and club)
-Fill out the athlete recruitment form on the website of each school you are interested
-Try to have your club attend a college showcase
-Fill out the appropriate Clearinghouse form if have not done so already
-DECIDE ON THE RIGHT SCHOOL FOR YOU
